Subject the loss of a good friend
Body: tomorrow is my 51st birthday...but there will be no celebrating or joy...for tomorrow i have to take my beloved mowgli to the vet to have her euthanized. she is old, 15 1/2, and deaf and going blind. she has arthritis in her hips which makes walking difficult for her. she's also now become incontinent.

mowgli has been here for me (and i for her) when there was no one else. she has loved me (and i her) unconditionally. i cannot watch her suffer any more because of my need for her.

oh, how i shall miss her.

so, no birthday greetings please...perhaps next year.
